IMG Partners with PennApps!
Interactive Media Group is thrilled to partner up with PennApps to help create Penn’s first hackathon.

We will be hosting the Pitch Competition on September 16th at 8PM (Location TBA). Our goal is to attract
- passionate entrepreneurs with burning ideas to transform the Penn experience for the better.
- shrewd hackers who relish in solving difficult problems in a short amount of time and turning lofty ideas into grounded reality.
If you’re a number 1, then you’ll definitely be interested in the pitch contest.During this pitch you will have 60-90 seconds to convince not only judges, but engineering talent that they should work on your hack. What goes into a good hackathon pitch, you may ask?:
<the_problem>Clearly and quickly articulate the main point. The problem probably comes from observing everyday life around you. Maybe your friends are complaining about how much Penn Course Review sucks, or you’ve realized how difficult it is for clubs to interact with their members. </the_problem>
<the_solution> How does your product solve this problem? It’s ok if the solution is general; the specifics will come in the next step.</the_solution>
<features> Here’s where you describe in detail what your product will do from a UX perspective. Bonus points if you can describe how it will do it from a technical perspective. Remember, you want to attract technical talent, and they’ll be impressed with your broad knowledge.</features>
<clarity> Your pitch needs to be clear and concise. You don’t have a lot of time to persuade the crowd, so every word counts. </clarity>
Team IMG believes that PennApps is an incredible opportunity to challenge the status quo at Penn and create the future. Hackathons in the real world can be quite a spectacular event with hundreds, or even thousands, of hackers, investors, and press members. PennApps will be an unparalleled way to experience a real-world event within our university.
